We are hiring a Social Media Editor to work in a fun, fast paced new media environment! The Social Media Editor is responsible for managing all aspects social media for the millions of health information seekers Remedy reaches every month. This position will be based in New York, NY. 

We endeavor to provide the best information and tools to the most health consumers at every major decision making moment in the health continuum. We strive to inform decisions, influence behavior and inspire health.

Our Strategy is to influence consumer behavior and differentiate our company by delivering data focused products, exclusive to Remedy, through only the most credible spheres of influence: the physician, the pharmacist, the expert patient and expert content.
 
 Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with editors of the various Remedy brands, including Berkeley Wellness, Health Central, TheBody.com, TheBodyPro.com, and HealthAfter50.com to plan and create creative, original and on-trend social media posts multiple times per day.

  • Design and develop best practices for editorial leaders around social media publishing.

  • Write or work with freelance writers to create news digests for one or all of the Remedy websites.

  • Keen knowledge of distribution tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and email newsletters.

  • Help develop interactive tools and other site products as needed to engage site audiences, drive site registration and foster active communities on the sites.

  • Communicate with development team and to develop in-house social media tools.

  • Collaborate with the multimedia and creative teams to make the perfect imagery and video for the right platform.

  • Work with marketing team to implement insights from analytics, as well as form partnerships and relationships with key players on social.

 
 Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years’ relative experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Expertise in multiple with social networking methods and applications.

  • Ability to analyze, interpret and present trends in content publishing.

  • Ability easily attain new skills in social media, multimedia and digital publishing.

  • Ability to function effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Understanding and implementation of best SMO practices as it applies to content.

  • Strong editing and proofreading skills.

  • Editing, correcting and optimizing images for high quality print publication.

  • Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites.

  • Support and adhere to internal creative and photo developmental procedures and requirements.

  • Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size.

  • Preparing rough drafts of material based on project.

  • Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required.

  • Identifying, differentiating and categorizing images depending on end usage is essential.

  • Acts as liaison to departmental personnel to track character lists and requested changes.

  • On an on-going basis, ensure we are maximizing our technology resources.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • At least two years of graphic design experience.

  • Accomplished in Photoshop and Illustrator.

  • Able to help set and follow brand standards.

  • Solid knowledge of UI and Web design.

  • Flexible, versatile, and fast, with extreme attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Back end engineers, in collaboration with our front-end team, help drive our architecture and platform.  We work on beautiful, responsive web applications and we need you to help build our processes, introduce APIs, analyze data and architect SQL and noSQL databases in the back-end.  We support multiple products so the right person can make significant impact to our entire platform and help drive engaging content to our users.

Responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent.

  • Ability to query, extract and analyze data using advanced SQL (know why EXISTS is better than IN?  Tell us)

  • Expertise in data modeling/database design and ETL processes to retrieve and process and integrate data from various data repositories

  • Familiarity with backend application architecture, ORMs, unit testing and Continuous integration principles

  • Exposure in building and consuming REST APIs using JSON/XML and other data formats

  • Experience with relational (MySQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB), including the ability to transform and interchange data between the two
